Cummings soulful and explosive approach to blues and rock caught the attention of Blind Pig Records, which signed him to a multi-album deal. Someone Like You, the latest album from master guitarist, master builder, and fan favorite Albert Cummings, marks his return to noted roots label Blind Pig Records.

The Massachusetts native learned the requisite three chords on the guitar from his father, but then switched to playing banjo at age 12 and became a fan of bluegrass music. In his late teens he encountered the early recordings of Stevie Ray Vaughan and was floored by the virtuosity. While in college in 1987 he saw Vaughan perform and he returned to the guitar with a new outlook and resolve.

Geneseo Symphony Orchestra and Festival Chorus @ Wadsworth Auditorium
Nov 24 @ 3:00 pm

Please join the combined forces of the Geneseo Symphony Orchestra, the Geneseo Wind Ensemble, and the Geneseo Festival Singers in their concert, “Deep Field.” Opening with “Jupiter” from Gustav Holst’s famed “Planets,” our exploration through space continues with a piece inspired (and accompanied) by images from the NASA Hubble telescope, Eric Whitacre’s “Deep Field.” Bring your smartphones, as there’s an interactive app for the audience to play a part in the performance! Bruckner’s “Te Deum” is our second half of the performance, one of the richest exclamations of thanksgiving from the Romantic era.
