Wadsworth Library Tech Tutor Help By Appointment During Closure

Looking to become more comfortable with your computer, tablet, or smart phone? Get one-on-one tech help at the library. Sign-up now for a one-hour session by calling (585) 243-0440 or stop in the library. The tutor is available on Mondays from 6-8 PM. The dates are February 3, March 2, April 6, May 4, and June 1. This program is funded by a Workforce Development Grant from Pioneer Library System awarded to Livingston County Libraries.

Please note that Wadsworth Library is currently closed due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Therefore in-person April events are canceled, as are the May 4 and June 1 sessions.

LCHS Program: In Our Backyard Series Part 2 @ Livingston County Historical Society Museum

Part 2 of our six part “In Our Backyard Series” features new towns, new stories, and three new separate 15 minute presentations. How well do you know Livingston County towns? Neighboring towns are rich with history and places to visit, and just a short drive away. Once again, we hope to inspire your next “staycation” in Livingston County.

Cancelled: 3rd of July Ring of Fire and Fireworks @ Long Point Park on Conesus Lake

This popular annual event has been cancelled. Information regarding last year’s event is kept for reference only. Keep up-to-date with the latest from the Conesus Lake Association.

For reference only:
Flares are sold by the Conesus Lake Association. Lake residents and businesses set up and light them by 10 PM.

The fireworks are coordinated by Conesus Fest for Charity, Inc. and 10% of all funds collected will be donated to the Warrior Salute Program and Wolf Foundation. Donations can be made online or to Smith Lumber 5833 Big Tree Road, Lakeville, NY 14480.

A great public location to view the flares and various firework displays is Long Point Park in the Town of Geneseo. Wishing all a fun and safe Independence Day Weekend!

Other public access sites include:
Conesus Lake Public Boat Launch – located on East Lake Road (near MacPherson Point), 4 miles south of Rt.20A. Hard surface launch ramp; parking for 45 cars with trailers. Operated by the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

Conesus Inlet Wildlife Management Area – located off West Lake Rd.(Rt.256), at the south end of the lake. Cartop launch only; parking for 40 cars. Operated by the DEC.

Pebble Beach – located off Pebble Beach Road, northwest corner of the lake. Cartop and parking for 120 cars. Operated by the DEC.

Sand Point (Vitale Park) – located off Rt.20A, north end of the lake. Cartop and parking for 45 cars. Operated by the Town of Livonia and the DEC.

LCHS – Bus Tour to Ganondagan @ Bus leaves and returns to Livingston County Historical Society Museum

Meet at the Livingston County Historical Society Museum, hop on the bus, and enjoy an afternoon trip to and from Ganondagan located in Victor, NY. Your group admission covers a special two-hour program including: the Creation Story Film, a Gallery Tour, and a guided presentation at the Bark Longhouse. Registration required. LCHS Program: Shakers of Western New York / Semi Annual Meeting @ Livingston County Historical Society Museum

Established in the late 1700s, the Shakers have intrigued Americans with their religious services, architecture and furniture. What unique aspects defined this nearly 250 year-old religious communal society? What is known about the Shakers in Western NY who moved from Sodus to establish their community at Groveland? Peter Wisbey, curator of collections at Genesee Country Village and Museum will answer these questions and more.
