Winter Storytime Programs: Books & Babies @ Wadsworth Library

Books & Babies is a lap-sit program designed to introduce children (6 months – 2 years of age) to language and early literacy. Babies sit with their caregivers and model the activities presented through simple finger plays, songs, stories and nursery rhymes. Registration is required and is open now.

The Next Chapter @ Wadsworth Library

A storytime event for the school age crowd! We meet one Thursday afternoon each month from 3:30-4:30 pm. We’ll enjoy picture books, chapter books, literacy, art, and science activities, all for the school age crowd! Open to children in K-3rd grade. Registration is not required.

Geneseo Central School Fine Arts Festival @ Geneseo Central School
Jan 16 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

An evening of performances showcasing student talent at Geneseo Central School.
• From 6-7 PM enjoy the K-12 Art Exhibition and Music Stroll featuring small string ensemble performance groups in the school foyer.
• Beginning at 7 PM the event moves into the McCarthy Auditorium for performances by the Middle School and High School Jazz Bands, Middle School Show Choir and The Pitchforks High School A Capella group.
• Specialty desserts and beverages will be available for purchase during intermission.
• Raffle tickets will be available for a chance to win tickets to upcoming performances at local arts venues (GEVA Theater, RPO, Finger Lakes Opera, Bristol Valley Theater, Geneseo Community Players and more).

Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 20 at the corner of Bank and Main Streets from 9:00 – 9:15 AM. The outside ceremony will be followed by a gathering at Crickets Coffee Shop, 53 Main St. where warm refreshments will be provided and a viewing of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech will be presented.
