Geneseo Community Main Street presents Chocofrolic on Main Street
• Saturday, February 22
• 11 AM – 4 PM
A ticket to this event includes one free chocolate treat from each of the participating Main Street businesses. There will be over a dozen Main Street businesses offering specialty chocolate items.

Tickets to this event are limited, so act fast to reserve your spot.
• Tickets cost $5 pre-sale and $7 day-of.
• Pre-sale tickets will be available through February 21st at Main Street businesses TBA.
• Pre-sale tickets will also be available online (with a fee) through February 21st.

Registration for this event will begin at 10:30 AM at the Not Dot Shop (127 Main St) and the Big Tree Inn (46 Main St). The registration card is a map guide of Main Street that pinpoints participating businesses and their specials, and we supply the bag to collect the chocolate treats of the day.

Chocofrolic will be a wonderful opportunity for chocolate-lovers from the College and surrounding community to come together and interact for a fun event.

SUNY Geneseo’s Department of Theatre and Dance Studies presents the Geneseo Dance Ensemble in Dancing on the Edge featuring new works by faculty and guest artists. The concert is artistically directed and produced by professor of dance studies Jonette Lancos and the dance ensemble’s associate director Mark Broomfield ’94 PhD, associate professor of dance studies.

The program will be presented in the Alice Austin Theatre on February 27–29 at 7:30 PM, and March 1 at 2 PM. The performances are open to the public and free parking is available. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Student Association Ticket Office or online at bbo.geneseo.edu.

Features speakers and guests from the Paranormal and UFO communities as well as event attractions, psychics, artists, illustrators and a diverse array of vendors

Proceeds to benefit the Veterans Outreach Center Inc. The VOC provides programs and services to those who have served in our Armed Forces. They provide programs such as counseling, job training and assisting veterans in connecting to community resources that meet their and their families immediate needs.

Synopsis: A documentary telling the story of a transgender Filipina woman who is found dead in a motel room and the leading suspect is a U.S. Marine. Following this is a firestorm of grassroots activism demanding accountability. The ensuing case lays bare political tensions between the United States and the Philippines.

Roaring Twenties Dinner Dance & Silent Auction @ Valley Oak Event Center at Quality Inn

Open to the public, this dinner dance and silent auction will have a buffet dinner, cash bar, 50/50 raffle, music by D&J Music Factory, and prizes for the best Roaring 20’s fashions. $30 per person, $25 for students.

Hosted by the Avon American Legion Auxillary Unit 29, proceeds to benefit Rochester Veterans Outreach Center and Stop Soldier Suicide.

Geneseo String Band Pre-Saint Patrick’s Day Concert @ Wadsworth Auditorium at SUNY Geneseo

Music and Dance in the Celtic Tradition

The Geneseo String Band, under the direction of James Kimball, will give its annual Pre-Saint Patrick’s Day Concert – Saturday, March 7, at 7:00 PM in Wadsworth Auditorium on the SUNY Geneseo campus. 

This is a program of mostly Irish music and dance, performed by the Geneseo String Band with SUNY Geneseo’s Sláinte Irish Dancers, and guest musicians, singers and dancers from Rochester’s very musical Irish community.

Guest performers will include the Drumcliffe Dancers, Ted McGraw, Brian Clancy, Mary Lester, John Ryan, Bill Henrie, Adie Maher, uilleann piper Tim Benson, Mitzie Collins, John Heyer and more.

General Admission $10.00; seniors and Geneseo students $5.00; 12 and under free. Tickets available (cash please) at the door only.

This popular annual event has been cancelled. Information regarding last year’s event is kept for reference only. Keep up-to-date with the latest from the Conesus Lake Association.

For reference only:
Flares are sold by the Conesus Lake Association. Lake residents and businesses set up and light them by 10 PM.

The fireworks are coordinated by Conesus Fest for Charity, Inc. and 10% of all funds collected will be donated to the Warrior Salute Program and Wolf Foundation. Donations can be made online or to Smith Lumber 5833 Big Tree Road, Lakeville, NY 14480.

A great public location to view the flares and various firework displays is Long Point Park in the Town of Geneseo. Wishing all a fun and safe Independence Day Weekend!

Other public access sites include:
Conesus Lake Public Boat Launch – located on East Lake Road (near MacPherson Point), 4 miles south of Rt.20A. Hard surface launch ramp; parking for 45 cars with trailers. Operated by the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

Conesus Inlet Wildlife Management Area – located off West Lake Rd.(Rt.256), at the south end of the lake. Cartop launch only; parking for 40 cars. Operated by the DEC.

Pebble Beach – located off Pebble Beach Road, northwest corner of the lake. Cartop and parking for 120 cars. Operated by the DEC.

Sand Point (Vitale Park) – located off Rt.20A, north end of the lake. Cartop and parking for 45 cars. Operated by the Town of Livonia and the DEC.

The Geneseo Rotary Summer Festival (originally to be held on July 10 and 11, rescheduled to September 25 and 26) has now been moved to 2021.

The Rotary Club of Geneseo provides this statement on its website “Due to the uncertainty of the spread of the Corona virus, the Geneseo Rotary Club has decided to postpone the Summer Festival until July 9 & 10, 2021. This was not an easy decision however it was the right decision, as the health of our community is most important. We are planning the same activities with the highlight being the Saturday evening free performance by the Skycoasters. We hope everyone will be able to join us in what has become one of the favorite weekends of the year.”
