Join the Geneseo Wind Ensemble and Music Department Faculty and Friends in an exhibition of experimental music! Using the concept of “Kyklos” used in Plato’s “The Republic” as a way of describing all the different states of government – democracy, aristocracy, monarchy, ochlocracy, oligarchy, and tyranny – we explore these concepts through music construction using graphic design scores, indeterminate music, and serialism. The evening will feature a stunning virtuosic display of the talents of Prof. Megan Kyle, oboe, and the world premiere of a new work by Geneseo’s own Timothy Snyder (’19)!
