Kala Stein is an artist noted for innovative design, mold making and casting techniques primarily in porcelain. Her work explores dynamic systems and sustainable practices within the intersection of design, production, and the handmade.
Kala grew up in the Finger Lakes Region of NYS and received her MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2009. She teaches internationally, produces art features for the hospitality industry and travels where her art takes her. Kala received a National Endowment for the Arts grant in 2017 for studio research at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD with her collective. She is the Director of Ceramics and the Arts at Sonoma Community Center, Sonoma, CA.

The All-College Hour Speaker Series supports the College mission and embodies the principles of The Bringing Theory to Practice Project. The aim of the series is to provide integrative opportunities for the campus community to come together to engage in learning that promotes cognitive, emotional, and civic development. The topics of the series are intended to challenge thinking, spur self-reflection, encourage civil discourse, and promote social responsibility. The series is sponsored by Student and Campus Life. All sessions take place during the All-College Hour (2:30-3:45 PM).
