Stories from the Attic: A Handful of Geneseo Histories
Stories from the Attic explores aspects of Geneseo and Livingston County that might not be evident to students of the university. Spanning as far back as the Treaty of Big Tree, students will be able to see and touch an actual part of the ancient oak–while also being able to learn about slightly more recent things, such as the largest manufacturer of croquet sets in the United States and the Geneseo Normal School. Stories from the Attic will also explore Geneseo salt mines–one of the most important in the US–and the little known existence of German Prisoner of War camps that existed during World War II.
