The Geneseo Chamber Singers and Geneseo Spectrum Singers will be performing a free concert of compelling choral music in historic St. Michael’s Episcopal Church at 23 Main Street in Geneseo.
The concert will highlight several student soloists. Performing the solos in the J.S. Bach Magnificat will be sopranos Jennifer Bender and Nina Goldstein, alto Madison Kemler, tenor RT James, and baritone Noah Chichester. Also being performed on this concert will be John Rutter’s enchanting arrangement of seasonal carols entitled O Holy Night. Featured keyboardists will be Dr. Chiao-Wen Cheng and Dr. Wan-Ling Chuang.
An important Livingston County edifice, built in the gothic style and rich in history and architectural significance, the cornerstone for the present St. Michael’s Church was laid in 1866 with architectural design by Henry Dudley. Inside the church stained glass windows by Tiffany, William Morris, and Pike Studios, along with tablets, chancel screen, and articles of brass and silver enhance the beauty of the interior of the sanctuary.
Seating is limited so it’s a good idea to arrive early.
